Pablo Trincia, Italy’s most famous podcaster, recounts Truman Capote’s immortal work, reading the very pages that inspired him as a boy to become a storyteller, particularly of crime stories.
“Truman Capote achieves something unique: he creates a new genre, that of non-fiction. He reconstructs this story through dozens and dozens of interviews with all the key figures, with everyone who was there, with everyone who knew the family involved. In the end, he manages to establish relationships—in a manner that is perhaps somewhat questionable from an ethical point of view—even with the two killers,” explains Trincia.
His exegesis of the text of In Cold Blood guides the audience in discovering the narrative devices used by Capote to recount the events that actually took place, whilst adopting the typical conventions of a work of fiction.
The performance alternates between particularly evocative moments of reading and moments of reflection on the most significant passages of the text.
