Organised by the Società Scacchistica Torinese, Yess Chess Projects and the Regional Committee of the Italian Chess Federation, in collaboration with CAMERA. Italian Centre for Photography, the festival offers a contemporary look at the world of chess, presenting it as a meeting point between culture, art, sport and social life.
• Saturday 21 White and Black Night: the exhibition rooms host a Rapid Chess Tournament. The public can watch the games live, immersed in the atmosphere of the museum and accompanied by live jazz music; it is also possible to visit the Edward Weston exhibition.
• Sunday 22 Social Chess in Action: a day that highlights the educational and inclusive role of chess. The programme includes an all-female simultaneous exhibition in the inner courtyard with a young chess player who grew up in the Società Scacchistica Torinese, who will challenge 10 opponents at the same time, and free workshops for children upon reservation. To conclude, there will be an ice cream break with Mara dei Boschi.
On both days, the exhibition Captures by international photographer Stev Bonhage will be open to visitors.
