Ettore Fico's rediscovered paradises are unspoilt woods, hilly landscapes, vineyards, pergolas and, above all, flower gardens, filled with colourful hues that swarm vividly and brightly across the pictorial surface. The fundamental premise behind the exhibition is the synthesis of the artist's ideal “programmatic manifesto”.
Despite the natural and physiological stylistic maturation that accompanies the evolution of individual poetics, the latter has in fact demonstrated a surprising consistency of intent, preserving intact, during more than sixty years of activity, a fundamental purpose: that of transfiguring nature through a sort of “unresolved abstraction”, probing the depth of things without losing sight of their ontological, factual presence and ultimately restoring an image filtered by his own capacity for retrospective reworking.
Through a corpus of fundamental works, the exhibition aims to narrate the story of a personal, participatory and emotionally intense journey.
