The 44th Giaveno Regional Porcini Mushroom Fair: the entire historic centre will be invaded by stands for tasting and sampling gastronomic specialities, stalls selling handicraft products and artefacts, and the eagerly awaited market and award ceremony for the boulajours, the expert local mushroom hunters.
There will also be music, a photographic exhibition on mycology, the extraordinary opening of the Mushroom Museum and the Alessandri Museum, a static meeting of Fiat coupes... and a grand finale with a treasure hunt in the Mushroom Village. In Piazza Mautino Cà del Güst with show-cooking and food talks; in Piazza Molines, stands for tasting fried mushrooms.
From 3 to 12 October, it will be possible to taste porcini mushrooms in local restaurants with themed menus, but also at Palafungo, at the Mushroom Village and the Alpine Mushroom; on 4 October, a conference entitled Una montagna di Funghi (A Mountain of Mushrooms); on 7 October, a solidarity dinner entitled Insieme si può fare (Together We Can Do it); on 11 October, the inauguration of Il sentiero dei semplici (The Path of the Simple Ones) and many other side experiences (cycling, walking)
