Series of lectures organised by the University of Turin and hosted at the Regional Museum of Natural Sciences in Turin: humans and animals express themselves through languages, songs and sounds.

 

• Monday 6: Characteristics and structures of vocal communication in primates, by Professor Didier Demolin, Sorbonne Nouvelle University, Paris.

 

• Thursday 23: Onomatopoeia, phonosymbolism and the origins of words, by Luca Nobile, Bourgogne Europe University, Dijon; Things, words and names, by Professor Andrea Valle, University of Turin.

 

• Friday 24: The sounds of language as instruments of persuasion, by Professor Edoardo Lombardi Vallauri, Roma Tre University; From goats to lemurs, from toads to dolphins: bioacoustics made in Turin, by Professor Cristina Giacoma, University of Turin.
