In October 2025, the San Carlo Theatre reopened completely renovated after years of work and anticipation, with new staging, functional dressing rooms and energy and aesthetic upgrades.
The San Carlo was founded in 1957 based on an idea by Canon De Marchi with donations from the entire population. In 2016, the municipality took over the theatre with a multi-year loan for use from the Curia. Today, the theatre is a small architectural and technical gem.
The redevelopment, supported by Pnrr and Gal Basso Monferrato Astigiano funds, has enabled structural and energy improvements, the refurbishment of the dressing rooms, the creation of functional spaces and the refurbishment of the playground in front of the building.
The 200-seat, multi-purpose structure can host various types of events with different space requirements.
