The documentary recounts, through testimonies, photographs, film footage and contributions from the period, Bonatti's years in Bardonecchia and the welcome he received from the town. Already famous, fresh from his success and personal disappointments following the Italian conquest of K2 in 1954, he was called upon in early 1955 by the Municipality of Bardonecchia to work as a mountain guide and ski instructor. He remained there for two years, “adopted” by the town, which also granted him honorary citizenship on 24 August 1955.
