A compelling account of the 1970s and 1980s seen through the lens of photographer Angelo Frontoni, who, with elegance and irony, was able to capture the spirit and contradictions of those years.
With his unmistakable baroque taste, always bordering on excess, Angelo Frontoni has portrayed stars of cinema, television and fashion. In his photographs, published in national and international magazines and newspapers, seduction blends with the irony of his gaze, provocation and sweetness coexist in a surprising balance, and today these images tell us the story of the spectacle of an era and, above all, the desires and fantasies of a generation.
The exhibition starts in the Aula del Tempio and then winds its way along the Rampa Elicoidale: 200 photographs portray 62 national and international artists and take visitors on a journey through images spanning two decades of great social and political transformation, well recounted and interpreted by the protagonists of those years, actors, singers and models. From Jane Fonda to Brigitte Bardot, from Jane Birkin to Claudia Cardinale, from Fabio Testi to Ringo Starr, from Elsa Martinelli to Marisa Mell, from Ilona Staller to Moana Pozzi, from Edwige Fenech to the Kessler sisters, from Loredana Berté to Ornella Vanoni and Raffaella Carrà, ending - or beginning - with Patty Pravo.
