The Fondazione Merz presents the second edition of Push the Limits, an exhibition project that, by enhancing research, continues to investigate contemporary language and creativity with artists from different generations and backgrounds, who make the overcoming and transformation of imposed and supposed limits their artistic grammar.
Practices, languages and research by 20 artists - Heba Y. Amin, Maja Bajević, Mirna Bamieh, Fiona Banner, Rossella Biscotti, Monica Bonvicini, Latifa Echakhch, Yasmine Eid-Sabbagh, Cécile B. Evans, Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster, Mona Hatoum, Emily Jacir, Jasleen Kaur, Katerina Kovaleva, Teresa Margolles, Helina Metaferia, Janis Rafa, Zineb Sedira, Nora Turato - protagonists with new works, already created or recontextualised specifically for the Foundation's spaces.
The title, Push the Limits. Culture strips itself bare and reveals war, explores art's tendency to constantly push itself to the limit in order to shift the axis of thought, perception and discourse, introducing new solutions and interpretations of our time.
