There is a festival that does not come from above, does not respond to the logic of big financiers, does not speak on behalf of important sponsors, institutions, banks and foundations.
Dora Nera is the first noir festival built entirely from the bottom up, as free as the word freedom, as independent as a breath of wind: a militant festival of noir literature and cinema, born in Turin in November 2021.
Three days of meetings, debates, awards ceremonies and 362 days of militancy on the frontiers, in the neighbourhoods, with our feet and hands in the contradictions of the present, to bring literature to where conflict dwells, where women and men experience social injustices or the repercussions of a power system that has chosen them as sacrificial victims.
Dozens of national and international guests, authors who meet the public and mingle with the people, bridging any real and philosophical distance. Film screenings, exhibitions, round tables, debates and shows that, once again this year, promise to be unforgettable!
