The Profezie Artificiali (Artificial Prophecies) series returns with its first event of 2026, analysing how AI is changing our vision of the future.
• 4pm - interactive game lab Sliding doors: choices and consequences in video games. Lorenzo Plini, founder of mmo.it, and Giacomo Conti, Politecnico di Torino, lead an interactive meeting during which visitors can play Detroit: Become Human. Starting from this experience, we will reflect on how the choices made by the player change the course of history and how developers construct the illusion of control.
• 5 p.m.: round table discussion on Futures, machines and AI. Paolo Bertetti, scientific coordinator of MUFANT, moderates the discussion between Antonio Santangelo (University of Turin), Alberto Robiati (Forwardto) and Emanuela Piga Bruni (Mercatorum University of Rome). Starting from the representations of automatons and AI in the books Immaginari del domani (Imaginaries of Tomorrow) and La macchina fragile. L'inconscio artificiale fra letteratura, cinema e televisione (The Fragile Machine: The Artificial Unconscious in Literature, Cinema and Television), we will attempt to answer the question “What does it mean to be human?”.
