Matota talks about difficult issues in simple terms, encouraging discussion and new ideas by giving young and very young people a voice.
There are three themes that we will explore through meetings, shows, screenings and workshops. Let's start with the clichés that populate our imagination:
• They are stealing our homes and jobs! - migration and migrants
• There are also just wars! - wars and the identity politics that support them
• Yes, but he also did good things! - racism and the theories that generate it
Thanks to the contribution of artists, scholars, activists, and representatives from the worlds of literature, music, visual arts, and theatre, we will try to overturn these three clichés in a series of workshops, dialogues, presentations, readings, screenings, and performances, understanding why they are false and can hurt us and those around us.
Matota is a festival open to everyone, designed for schools, teachers, families, educators and pedagogues.
This year we are celebrating 50 years of Pimpa®, with Altan as our guest and a double special event: a social lunch with Pimpa® and live dubbing of episodes from the animated series with the extraordinary participation of voice actors Francesca Vettori (Pimpa®) and Giorgio Scaramuzzino (Armando).
