With the concert Songs for a Living Museum, music meets visual art, confirming the Giansone Museum as a vibrant space for research and interpretation, where the artistic heritage engages directly with the present.

Far from being merely a silent guardian of the past, the Museum embraces interaction and welcomes visitors through a fusion of different forms of expression: the exhibition galleries are transformed into a space to be shared, where the sculptures come to life, as it were, and engage directly with sound and the human voice.

One of the most intense and symbolic moments of the concert was Mare, a composition by Corrado Margutti dedicated to the memory of Giuseppe Floridia, the late President of the Mario Giansone Foundation. The piece is based entirely on Mario Giansone’s original verses and lyrics, and captures the artist’s poetic and literary sensibility through music. Performed by Corrado Margutti on vocals and Nicolò Spera on guitar, Mare takes on a particularly profound meaning within the Museum, creating an evocative dialogue between the works on display and the soundscape.

The concert will also feature two world premieres of two cycles for voice and guitar commissioned by Nicolò Spera with the support of the University of Colorado Boulder. The first, *Goldenhair*, was composed by Giacomo Susani to a text by James Joyce; the second is the second volume of *Canzoni scritte da Margutti* (Songs written by Margutti), set to texts in Italian regional languages.

All the literary texts used by the musicians will be recited by the wonderful voice of Roberto Girardi.
