Baroque Turin, on a rolling tour.
Hop aboard a historic tram and let yourself be transported to the heart of 17th-century Piedmont: a 50-minute journey through the city’s most evocative spots, accompanied by music for voice and lute by Brumel, Festa, Ferrabosco, Marenzio and Dowland – and by the words of a story written by a young author from the Scuola Holden.
This journey spans four generations of Dukes of Savoy, from Filiberto II to Carlo Emanuele I, revealing Turin as an international crossroads of arts and culture. Starting from Piazza Carlo Emanuele II, the route continues along Via Po, Piazza Castello, the Royal Gardens, Corso Regina Margherita, Via Milano, Via San Tommaso, Via Bertola, Via dell’Arsenale, Corso Vittorio Emanuele II and Via Accademia Albertina, before returning to Piazza Carlo Emanuele II.
Sìdar Ensemble: Elena Mascii (soprano), Lisa Soardi (lute).
