One hundred years after her death, the Palazzina di Caccia di Stupinigi tells the story of Margherita of Savoy, the first queen of Italy, and her surprising modernity.

Margherita. A century of history is a cross-cutting project that intertwines history, customs, mobility and taste.

At the heart of the programme is the exhibition “On the Queen's Roads. The Origins of the Modern Automobile”, scheduled to run from 5 March to 28 June 2026 in the Citroniera di Ponente, featuring eleven original cars from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, alongside nine historic carriages from the prestigious Nicolotti Furno private collection.

Alongside the exhibition, the ‘Margherita's Rooms’ tour takes visitors through the Levante Apartment and other areas of the Palazzina, comparing historical photographs with the current displays.

The programme also includes the special project “Le Perle della Regina” (The Queen's Pearls), a chocolate created by the “Choco-Story Torino” Chocolate and Gianduja Museum and produced by Pfatisch. The chocolate will be presented on Sunday 25 January.

The story then expands with the series of conferences “Margherita in Stupinigi and her time”, culminating in the historical re-enactment “The Days of Margherita”, scheduled for 20 and 21 June 2026, a widespread event organised by Le vie del tempo, which recreates the atmosphere, gestures and presences of the early 20th century.
