The close relationship between Vivaldi and Bach is now well established, as is the influence of the Venetian composer on Bach's compositions. These two great composers also shared a fondness for two instruments, the oboe and the violin, which often play a leading role in many solo and orchestral pieces and which come together in this programme in the wonderful double concerto in C minor.
