A journey in stages dedicated to the theme of “resilience”: the ability of individuals and communities to face life's unexpected events and emerge stronger. Eight sections, each comprising a totem sculpture by Isabella Corni and three drawings by her father Francesco, with a poetic text by Maria Baroni.
Francesco Corni (1952-2020) dedicated his life to disseminating history and architecture through drawing. He was born in Modena, grew up in Turin and trained in Aosta as a surveyor in archaeological excavations. By meticulously drawing the objects and structures that emerged, he decided that his vocation was to explain, through educational reconstruction, the technical data of archaeology, architecture and human history in general. He used ink as his artistic technique: for decades, his illustrations appeared in the pages of Bell'Italia and Bell'Europa.
Isabella Corni, born in 1976 and who died prematurely in 2014, in addition to her professional career after graduating in Architecture in Turin and Construction Engineering in Pavia, devoted herself to sculpture and painting, participating in important international symposia.
The exhibition brings together the paths of father and daughter who, despite the diversity of their artistic expressions, are united by the common meaning they give to art: a means of expressing their uniqueness, leaving a mark on history and giving themselves to progress and the future.
