Teodolinda Caorlin took her art to all parts of the world, until she arrived at Palazzo Bricherasio, where the exedras of the carriageway and the courtly halls were populated with colourful figures, woven using a meticulous technique of fine threads, crossed in warp and weft. Here, in the same palace, Sofia Cacherano di Bricherasio dabbled in bandera embroidery, in use at Piedmontese courts since the 18th century, and in 1907 founded a school dedicated to that art for the city's underprivileged youth.
