La Vedova

West Fen House is no ordinary house. Nestled on the edge between Clifton and the marsh, it seems to be an entity in its own right, a soul bound to its own mystery. The villagers avoid speaking of it; its weathered walls conceal a dark history, and the mist that envelops it is said to carry the laments of those who have been trapped within.

When Adam Davies, a young solicitor, arrives to put the villa of the late Emily Butler, widow of Lewis, up for sale, he finds a house that seems to breathe a life of its own. He decides to see his work through despite warnings from everyone in Clifton...

Returning to the Teatro Cardinal Massaia to celebrate Halloween is *La Vedova*, a one-act noir experience that combines the suspense of horror films with the charm of literary crime novels.

Inspired by the legend of La Llorona – the weeping woman, a famous spectre from Latin American folklore who wanders by waterways at night, wailing in despair – the widowed mother manifests herself through the ceaseless lament of her weeping over the death of her drowned son.

A sombre production, set in the Victorian era, which blends Gothic atmospheres, mystery and narrative tension. With a nod to the visual language of horror cinema and aiming to draw even the most sceptical audience members to the theatre to enjoy a new experience, this immersive production makes them feel as though they are fully immersed in a film.
