The literary festival ‘San Gaudenzio Book Festival’ will take place in the beautiful late Baroque church of San Gaudenzio in Ivrea. Three days of meetings, culture and reflection, to rediscover the richness of the territory and support the dissemination of books and reading for all ages.
The Festival remains true to its original vocation: to focus on local authors, seeking to promote local stories, traditions and identities, without sacrificing the presence of guests of national importance.
Among the prominent names at this year's festival are Pier Franco Qualglieni, columnist for the Corriere della Sera newspaper, writer Debora Bocchiardo, and Professor Dario Pasero with his book dedicated to Luigi Armando Olivero, one of the most important figures in Piedmontese culture.
There will also be space for photography with the exhibition “Ali sul Lago” (Wings on the Lake) by photographer Simone Gaetano, which can be visited throughout the Festival.
Not to mention theatre, with the return of maestro Oreste Valente, who will stage the show “Il Dante della Pace” (Dante of Peace), the third stop on his Italian tour.
The Festival will open with an important moment of historical remembrance: the presentation of Mario Beiletti's book “La Resistenza in Canavese: Ivrea 3 maggio, Ivrea è libera” (The Resistance in Canavese: Ivrea 3 May, Ivrea is free), which reconstructs - day by day - the partisan struggle on the 80th anniversary of the Liberation.
