The Egyptian Museum is a contemporary archaeological museum that critically examines its role in a constantly changing society.
To this end, it preserves and showcases the archaeological collection whilst maintaining a constant dialogue with the present, so as to inspire the public, through a contemporary lens, to forge new and personal connections with the ancient world. From this perspective, contemporary art has taken on an increasingly central role in the museum’s programme, also offering a space to critically examine the history of the collection, starting with its diaspora-related nature.
From 27 October 2026 to 11 January 2027, contemporary art will take centre stage at the Egyptian Museum, with artistic projects and a dedicated public programme.
