On the occasion of the European Archaeology Days, here is the second appointment of the cycle Susa svelata. Racconti e ombre al chiaro di luna.
The event, entitled La città murata takes the public on a discovery of the city's defensive system and its urban evolution from the 3rd century A.D. onwards, through a theatrical guided tour of the ancient gates and walls that still tell the story of Susa today.
Participants, welcomed in the castle courtyard with an aperitif, can visit the temporary exhibition Matilde di Canossa and Adelaide di Susa. The Middle Ages of Women, set up in the Civic Museum.
From there, the city itinerary will start, divided into two shifts (pre-evening and evening):
- Porta Romana del Castello, with remains of the ancient paved vestibule
- Porta Savoia, the best preserved
- Porta Piemonte, today incorporated into the urban fabric under the civic clock tower
The itinerary will be enriched by theatrical inserts and narrative moments, offering visitors an immersive cultural experience, capable of combining historical disclosure and scenic suggestion.
