From 20 to 26 August, the 2026 Tour de l’Avenir will run from Normandy to the peaks of Gran Paradiso, heading towards Colle del Nivolet.

The Strambino–Ceresole Reale stage, scheduled for Wednesday 26 August, will bring the Tour de l’Avenir back to the Metropolitan City of Turin after a two-year absence. For 65 years, this race has been showcasing emerging cycling talents to fans around the world.

The 62nd edition of this prestigious stage race – previously won by champions of the calibre of Felice Gimondi, Greg LeMond, Miguel Indurain, Laurent Fignon and Tadej Pogačar – will take place from Thursday 20 to Wednesday 26 August.

As in 2024, the Metropolitan City of Turin has succeeded in securing an agreement with the organisers for the Tour de l’Avenir to finish in Italy, on Provincial Road 50 at Colle del Nivolet, at an altitude of 2,275 metres at Lake Serrù, within the municipality of Ceresole Reale and the Gran Paradiso National Park. This stage will showcase the hilly landscape of the Canavese region, passing through towns such as Caravino, Romano Canavese, San Martino and Agliè. The riders will then pass through Rivarolo, Pont and Cuorgnè and travel the entire length of the Orco Valley. The climb leading to Lake Serrù, with its series of spectacular hairpin bends, is sure to separate the field: to reach the 2,247-metre finish line, riders must tackle the final 5 km with an average gradient of 9.2 per cent, peaking at 13 per cent, whilst the average gradient over the final 20.3 km is 6 per cent, with gradients of up to 14 per cent immediately after Noasca.
