Tra i fili c'è Pinocchio

To mark the bicentenary of Carlo Collodi’s birth (1826–2026), the Grilli Marionette Foundation presents the major exhibition and performance project *Pinocchio Among the Strings* at Casa Gianduja.

The exhibition weaves together the Grilli Foundation’s rich heritage (marionettes, puppets, toy theatres, posters, rare books and vintage toys from 1890–1965) with the valuable artefacts from the archive of the Gian Renzo Morteo Study Centre (antique theatre scripts, recordings of historical performances and archive photographs).

Further enriching the exhibition programme is a solo exhibition by the artist Akira Zakamoto, ‘Pinocchio-san ピノキオ / ピノッキオ’, which serves as a visual and conceptual bridge between Collodi’s work and contemporary Eastern imagery.

The initiative is rounded off by a wider exhibition that will bring the display windows of the Regional Council’s Public Relations Office, the shops in the San Salvario district and the city’s bookshops to life, accompanied by a packed programme of theatre performances and lectures.
