On the occasion of the Archivissima festival and La Notte degli Archivi (Archive Night), the Egyptian Museum is proposing an evening dedicated to the discovery of the papyrus collection, with a focus on some examples of very high resolution 3D digitisation.
The meeting will be led by Federico Taverni, digital media specialist of the Museum, with the participation of Susanne Töpfer, head of the collection, and Francesca Gaia Maiocchi, restorer.
The public will be guided through a story that will allow them to explore some of the papyri at close quarters thanks to state-of-the-art technology, capable of restoring details that are barely visible to the naked eye and offering new perspectives for study and knowledge.
