Christmas Eve. Former innkeeper Bruno recalls some moments he experienced at his inn. From the glamorous Isa Bluette to the tough Fred Buscaglione, not to mention the bewildered comedy of Erminio Macario: his stories pass on knowledge about the Turin artists who crossed his path.
Our protagonist has in fact lived through 40 years of Turin's history and artistic memory: he was a friend and colleague of Isa Bluette, whom he met in the early 1920s when they were both employed at the Manifattura Tabacchi tobacco factory; he saw Erminio Macario's debut in his establishment; he was a confidant of Fred Buscaglione, following his artistic career from its beginnings to his untimely death in 1959.
