The OGR Turin presents ‘Infinity Mirrored Room – The Eternally Infinite Light of the Universe Illuminating the Quest for Truth’ by Yayoi Kusama, one of the most celebrated and influential artists on the international art scene.
For over fifty years, Yayoi Kusama has created immersive environments capable of completely enveloping visitors and drawing them into her visual universe. Through light, reflections and repetition, the installation transforms the space into a perceptual experience suspended between wonder and disorientation: points of light and mirrored surfaces create the illusion of an infinitely vast, ever-expanding space.
The obsessive repetition of forms and patterns – a hallmark of the artist’s work – becomes a tool for exploring the concept of the dissolution of the self, or ‘self-obliteration’, transcending the boundaries between the individual and their environment and opening up an expanded perception of space and the universe.
The work is presented as part of *The Quantum Effect*, an exhibition project dedicated to the connections between quantum theory, contemporary visual culture and new ways of perceiving and interpreting reality.
