Open Art House_Homegallery, on the occasion of the Welcome to My House festival - an exhibition of 20th-century architecture and design that includes visits to houses, spaces and buildings that have marked the history of architectural rationalism in Ivrea and Italia, a UNESCO World Heritage Site - presents the solo exhibition Casamatita, the space of intimacy by Antonella Vitali.
Through drawing, acrylic paint and materials, the artist offers a rigorous but only apparently rigid composition of a stylised house. It is a reference to the purity of children's drawings, to a primordial gesture that takes us back to a safe place, to our roots and to simplicity, where the stability of the house interacts with the outside world through a central, colourful element that transcends boundaries, emphasising the dynamic relationship between inside and outside and suggesting an emotional journey, the nuances of the soul and the complexity of human beings.
This work speaks of the traces we leave and receive in our interaction with the outside world, because none of us is isolated, but intertwined with our surroundings. White, black, yellow and red, with their boundaries expanding beyond the house, attract attention and bring movement to life, where nothing is ever static. They are an invitation to look beyond walls and appearances to discover the complexity that makes us human.
