From 28 August to 6 September, the historic centre of Carmagnola will once again host the National Pepper Fair, Italy's largest event dedicated to a fruit and vegetable product, celebrating its 77th edition this year.
Ten days of flavours, tradition and entertainment, with local producers, tastings, showcooking events and a large commercial area dedicated to food and wine, crafts and floriculture. Music and entertainment will enliven the city's streets and squares, while the PalaPeperone will provide the stage for challenges, showcooking events, talks and interviews with leading figures from the national food, wine and cultural scene. At the same time, the Foro Festival will bring nationally renowned artists and comedians to the stage.
The Fair will also be a starting point for discovering the area through experiences that showcase its food and wine heritage and landscapes. Among these, on 6 September, the Gravel Tour "Sul filo rosso del Peperone" will take participants on a 100-km route between Turin and Carmagnola, through rural landscapes, cultural attractions and stops offering the chance to discover local products and flavours.
The Mangébin restaurants will also take part in the initiative: during the Fair, each restaurant will offer at least one dish dedicated to Carmagnola Pepper, turning this outstanding local product into a common thread connecting Turin and its surrounding area through cuisine.
On 29 and 30 August, Turismo Torino e Provincia and the Turin Chamber of Commerce will welcome visitors at the Municipality of Carmagnola's space in Piazza Sant'Agostino, where they can play and discover the world of the Maestri del Gusto, ambassadors of the local food and wine tradition. All participants will receive a complimentary gift, while the luckiest will have the chance to taste a selection of delicious local products.
