During the Jubilee Year 2025, a public Ostension of the Holy Shroud is not planned, but by exploiting the opportunities of digital technology, a ‘virtual pilgrimage’ inside the Shroud Tent will be offered to the whole world.
The Tent will host a table of the same dimensions as the Shroud reproducing the virtual image of the Cloth, and will offer the possibility to explore and ‘touch’ the details of the image. In the Tent, visitors will also find the exhibition ‘Volti Il volto dei Volti’, curated by the Carlo Acutis Foundation, and there will be a dedicated space for meetings, conferences, and debates.
The Tent will be open in Piazza Castello from 28th April to 5th May, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; the visit is free, but it is essential to book on the Avvolti website.
Moreover, for the occasion, Pope Francis has welcomed the invitation of the Archbishop of Turin, Msgr. Roberto Repole, and on 3rd May 2025, he will participate by video link to the meeting reserved to the young people of the dioceses of Turin and Susa on the occasion of the Jubilee 2025.
Finally, on Sunday 4th May at 10.30 a.m., the Papal Custodian of the Shroud Card. Roberto Repole, Archbishop of Turin and Bishop of Susa, will preside the Eucharistic celebration in the Cathedral, on the day of the liturgical feast of the Shroud. The celebration will be broadcast live on the official website www.sindone.org and the diocese website www.diocesi.torino.it.
