Parco Naturale Val Troncea - Aree Protette delle Alpi Cozie

In the marvellous «valley of the flowers» that opens up above Pragelato in Val Chisone, the Park is an authentic alpine paradise. Alongside larch and mountain pine woods with undergrowth of rhododendron, juniper, blueberry and green alder. Along the fields, prosper alpine stars, milk vetch and fescues, spurred violets and buttercups, in a backdrop of enchanting beauty where the ibex has been reintroduced, alongside other species of local animals like the chamois deer and the deer. Birds of prey include the presence of the royal eagle, the peregrine falcon and the Tengmalm’s owl.
