Chieri

Chieri

Located at the foot of the Torino hill, in the historic center coexist harmoniously Middle Ages and Baroque: dominates the Duomo, one of the largest buildings of the Piedmontese Gothic built by the bishop of Torino around 1037, the monumental triumphal arch work of the late '500 next to medieval palaces and baroque churches.

Chieri, a city of textiles since the fifteenth century, includes the museum of textiles and typical products such as the famous rubatà breadsticks, Freisa wine and the particular focaccia of Chieri.

In the hamlet of Pessione, there is the Martini Museum of the History of Oenology, created by Lando Rossi di Montelera, owner of Martini & Rossi, a famous plant for the production of Vermouth.
