Golden Autumn in Torino, events for everyone

Autumn also offers plenty of opportunities for young and old alike to discover the region’s fascinating artistic and cultural heritage in an original and engaging way.

On October 11 F@mu, the national day for families at the museum. A special day when museums across Italy offer special activities and workshops aimed at children, transforming into spaces filled with colour, laughter, voices, movement, questions and music; places where children can listen to stories, play, ask questions, create, invent and perform. A truly unforgettable way to experience places rich in beauty and culture together, whilst having fun.

On Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 September, the European Heritage Days are celebrated – Europe’s largest and most widely attended cultural event. The programme includes digital initiatives and guided tours, with special opening hours at state-run museums and cultural venues.

In addition, on Saturday there will be special evening openings at museums with admission at the symbolic price of €1.

Art week, for children too

Autumn is also the time for Turin Art Week: Artissima, Italy’s leading contemporary art fair, returns to the Oval Lingotto, this year from 30 October to 1 November. There’s no shortage of activities dedicated to children, with plenty of colourful and imaginative events to spark their imagination.

Over the weekend, don’t miss a visit to Paratissima, the super-pop art exhibition where families can find activities tailored to their needs. This year it’s taking place at the Real Collegio Carlo Alberto in Moncalieri. And if you’re still full of enthusiasm and energy, it’s also well worth popping along to Flashback and The Others to experience the various events and ‘Off’ programmes taking place around the city.

2026 continues to be a year of tennis mania for Italy, and the Nitto ATP FINALS are back again this autumn in Turin – one of the most important tennis tournaments of all time, where the world’s top eight players compete for the title.
From 15 to 22 November, the place to be is the Inalpi Arena, which, as well as hosting the tournament’s main court, has been enhanced by an entire site featuring exciting new attractions for a 360° experience. The pavilions of the Fan Village house a food court, a giant LED screen to watch the eagerly awaited matches, and plenty of sporting and entertainment activities for the whole family. But there’s no shortage of sporting and entertainment opportunities throughout the city either, with themed installations.

Luci d’Artista
The build-up to Christmas in Turin comes to life and lights up day by day with the traditional and ever-wonderful ‘Luci d’Artista’, which transform Turin’s streets and squares into an evocative open-air museum. This year, we can stroll with our eyes turned skywards from 22 October to 10 January 2027. Turin’s lights are created by internationally renowned artists, and some of the installations are on display all year round, such as the colourful ones in Piazza Carlina and those that bathe the Monte dei Cappuccini in a luminous blue. Among the new installations planned for 2026 are Tracey Emin’s at the Giardini Reali and Soundwalk Collective featuring Patti Smith and Philip Glass in the courtyard of the OGR Torino.
